Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan calls on Turkish Prime Minister in Ankara

ANKARA, June 22, 2017: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa  called on Prime Minister of Turkey, Mr Binali Yaldarim in Ankara today. COAS thanked the Prime Minister on Turkish support to Pakistan in various international fora. The two discussed matters related to regional security and commonality of challenges facing the two brotherly countries. Turkish  Prime Minister   appreciated the positive role Pakistan plays in the region as well as in the larger Muslim world. He reiterated Turkish support for Pakistan's stance on Kashmir. COAS thanked him, saying Pakistan and Turkey share same stance on many issues and Pakistan supports Turkey’s position on Cyprus as well as its efforts against terrorism of all hue and colour.

Pakistan Kara Kuvvetleri Komutanı Türk liderleriyle görüştü


ANKARA, 21 Haziran 2017: Türkiye'de resmi bir ziyaret için bulunan Pakistan Kara Kuvvetleri Komutanı (COAS) Orgeneral Qamar Javed Bajwa bugün Türk Cumhurbaşkanı Recep Tayyip Erdoğan'ı ziyaret etti. Ortak çıkarlarla ve bölgesel güvenlikle ilgili meseleler tartışıldı.  

COAS Cumhurbaşkanına Pakistan'a verilen sürekli destek için ve bölgeye barış ve istikrar getirmekteki rolü için teşekkür etti.  Türk Cumhurbaşkanı Pakistan tarafından yapılan fedakarlıkları ve Pakistan Ordusu tarafından terörizme ve militanlara karşı verilen savaşa yapılan katkıları övdü.

Türk Cumhurbaşkanı İslam ülkelerinin yoğun bir şekilde küresel barışa ve istikrara katkıda bulunabileceğini ve OIC'nin bunu yapmak için anlaşmazlık çözümü ve diyalog aracılığıyla yapmak için bir platform sunduğunu söyledi.  Kendisi Pakistan'ın bunun için çok önemli bir rol oynadığını ve iki kardeş ülke arasındaki çok yönlü işbirliğinin olumlu bir etkisinin olacağını belirtti.  Her ikisi de Türkiye ve Pakistan'ın birbirlerinin şartsız koşulsuz ve samimi desteklerine her zaman güvenebileceğinin altını çizdi.

Türk Kara Kuvvetleri Komutanı Orgeneral Salih Zeki Çolak ve Pakistan Büyükelçisi Sohail Mahmood da bu görüşme sırasında orada bulundular. 

COAS aynı zamanda Türkiye Milli Savunma Bakanı Sayın Fikri IŞIK'ı da ziyaret etti.  Bölgesel durumla ve ikili güvenlik işbirliğiyle ilgili meseleler tartışıldı.  Her iki taraf güvenlik politikaları, savunma üretimi ve insan kaynaklarının eğitimi alanlarında var olan olağanüstü işbirliği potansiyeli üzerinde anlaştılar. 
Daha öncesinde, COAS Türk Havacılık ve Uzay Sanayi Endüstrilerini (TAI) ziyaret etti.  Buraya varışı üzerine, kendisi hem askeri hem de sivil havacılık endüstrisinde TAI tarafından üstlenilen projeler hakkında bilgilendirildi.  TAI özellikle helikopterler ve UAV'ler üzerinde özel bir uzmanlık geliştirmiştir.  COAS tesisleri ziyaret etti ve T129 saldırı helikopteriyle bir tanıtım uçuşuna katıldı 
Bu olay üzerine konuşan Orgeneral Bajwa Türkiye tarafından erişilen yerli teknik seviyeye ve kahramanlığa övgüde bulundu.  Kendisi Pakistan'ın iki ülke arasında çok anlamlı bir savunma işbirliği kapsamını açacak olan büyük bir teknolojik ve endüstriyel potansiyele sahiptir diye ekledi.

Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan met with Turkish leadership during an official visit to Turkey



ANKARA, 21 June 2017: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of Pakistan General Qamar Javed Bajwa, who is on an official visit to Turkey, called on Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan today. Matters of mutual interest and regional security were discussed. 

COAS thanked the President for perennial Turkish support to Pakistan and its role in bringing peace and stability in the region. Turkish President acknowledged sacrifices made by Pakistan and contributions by Pakistan Army in fight against terrorism and militancy. 

Turkish President said that Islamic countries can contribute immensely towards global peace and stability and OIC offers a platform to do that through conflict resolution and dialogue. He said that Pakistan plays a very important role towards that end and multi faceted cooperation between the two brotherly countries will have a positive influence. Both noted that Turkey and Pakistan can always count on each other's unconditional and sincere support.

Turkish Land Forces Commander, General Salih Zeki Çolak and Ambassador of Pakistan Sohail Mahmood was also present during the meeting. 

COAS also called on Defence Minister of Turkey, Mr Fikri ISIK. Matters related to regional situation and bilateral security cooperation were discussed. Both agreed upon the tremendous potential for cooperation in the fields of security policies, defence production and human resource training. 
Earlier, COAS visited Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI). Upon arrival he was briefed about the projects being undertaken by TAI in both military and civil aviation industry.   TAI has developed particular expertise in helicopters and UAVs. COAS visited the facility and took an introductory flight in T129 attack helicopter. 
Speaking on the occasion, General Bajwa warmly appreciated the indigenous technical prowess achieved by Turkey. Pakistan has great technological and industrial potential, which open the scope for very meaningful defence cooperation between the two countries, he added.


Pakistan Kara Kuvvetleri Komutanı Türkiye'yi ziyaret ediyor

ANKARA, 20 Haziran 2017:   Pakistan Kara Kuvvetleri Komutanı (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa resmi bir ziyaret için Türkiye'ye geldi.  Türkiye'ye indiğinde COAS Anıtkabir'i ziyaret etti ve Türk ulusunun atasına saygılarını sunmak için çelenk koydu ve saygısını ziyaretçi defterine bir yazı yazarak ifade etti. 

COAS Türk Kara Kuvvetleri Karargahını ziyaret etti, burada Türk Kara Kuvvetleri Komutanı Orgeneral Salih Zeki Çolak tarafından karşılandı ve şeref kıtası tarafından selamlandı.  Türk Kara Kuvvetleri Karargahında COAS bölgesel güvenlik durumu ve Türk Kara Kuvvetleri hakkında ve eğitim, savunma üretimi ve barışı koruma operasyonları için bunların çeşitli görevleri hakkında bilgilendirildi. 
      


COAS'a Pakistan-Türkiye savunma bağlarının geliştirilmesi için hizmetlerinden ötürü basit ve zarif bir törenle Liyakat Madalyası verildi.  Bir konuşma yapan COAS Türkiye'nin tüm Pakistanlıların kalbinde edindiği özel yeri övdü.  Aldığı ödülü hem Pakistan hem de Türk Silahlı Kuvvetlerinin şehitlerine adadığını söyledi.


Daha sonra, COAS Türk Genelkurmay Başkanı Orgeneral Hulusi Akar'ı ziyaret etti ve bölgesel güvenlikle ve her iki ülkenin silahlı kuvvetlerinin barış ve istikrar için oynadığı rolle alakalı meseleleri tartıştı.  İki askeri lider birçok alandaki savunma işbirliğini daha da geliştirmek üzerinde anlaştılar.  Türk askeri liderleri Pakistan Ordusunun terörizme karşı ve barışı koruma operasyonlarında oynadığı rolden ve çok istikrarsız bir bölgede bir istikrar faktörü olarak oynadığı rolden çok memnundu.

Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan visits Turkey

ANKARA, June 20, 2017:  Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa is visiting Turkey at the invitation of the Turkish Land Forces Commander, General Salih Zeki Çolak.

COAS today visited Ataturk Mausoleum and laid floral wreath to pay homage to the father of Turkish nation and penned down his respects on the visitor’s book.

COAS visited Turkish Land Force Headquarters where he was received by General Salih Zeki Çolak, Commander Turkish Land Forces and was presented guard of honour. At the Turkish Land Force Headquarters, COAS was briefed on the regional security situation as well as the Turkish Land Forces and their various undertakings in field of training, defence production and peacekeeping operations.


COAS was awarded the Legion of Merit in a simple and graceful ceremony in recognition of his services for promotion of Pakistan-Turkey defence ties.            Speaking on the occasion, COAS underscored the special place that Turkey enjoys in the hearts of all Pakistanis. He dedicated the award to the Shuhada of both the Pakistani and Turkish Armed Forces.


Later, COAS called on Chief of Turkish General Staff, General Hulusi Akar and discussed matters related to regional security and the role Armed Forces of both countries play towards peace and stability. The two military leaders agreed to further enhance defence cooperation in multiple fields. Turkish military leadership was greatly appreciative of the role Pakistan Army plays against terrorism as well as in peace
keeping operations and as a factor of stability in a very volatile region.

Turks appreciate rich Pakistani culture showcased in Ankara

ANKARA, 18 June 2017:  Thousands attended an enthralling performance of Pakistani culture at Keçiören, Ankara, during the celebration of “Pakistan Night” as part of the 8th International Ramazan Festivities, hosted by the Municipality of Keçiören.

President of Pakistan-Turkey Cultural Association and Member Parliament Burhan Kayatürk, Ambassador of Pakistan Sohail Mahmood, Keçiören Municipality Mayor Mustafa Ak, Director General of South Asia in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Fazli Çorman and other dignitaries jointly cut the ribbon to open the Pakistan House (Pavilion) as part of the festivities. A broad range of Pakistani products including colourful textiles, traditional handicrafts, truck art, coffee table books, photographic display of Pakistan’s natural beauty and key events of Turkey-Pakistan relations, and tourism materials were on display at the Pakistan House.


Ambassador Sohail Mahmood in his address reiterated solidarity with Turkey in the wake of 15 July heinous coup attempt and prayed for the departed souls who made the ultimate sacrifice. The martyrs included many belongıng to Keçiören as well. He also paid rich tributes to Mayor Mustafa Ak for regularly organizing the Ramazan Istanbul Festivities that helped introduce diverse cultures to the people of Keçiören. Highlighting the special and abiding nature of Pakistan-Turkey relations, Ambassador Sohail Mahmood urged the younger generation to further promote this fraternal relationship nurtured by their ancestors over centuries. Both countries were also organizing a series of events to celebrate 2017 as “70th Year of Pakistan-Turkey Diplomatic Relations,” he added.
 
It may be recalled that, in a special gesture, Keçiören Municipality had planted 140 trees at the AK Party Memorial Forest in January 2015 in memory of the Shaheeds of Army Public School, Peshawar. Ambassador Sohail Mahmood, once again, thanked the people of Keçiören for this exemplary solidarity.

Mayor Mustafa Ak said “Pakistan is Turkey and Turkey is Pakistan as both countries have a special relationship”, rooted deep in history. Expressing his delight at Pakistan’s participation for the third time in the Ramazan Festivities, he said that such participation provided an opportunity to the people of Turkey to know more about the Pakistani culture. He informed that the representatives of 17 countries from different regions of the world participated in the Festival this year.

Parliamentarian Burhan Kayatürk, in his remarks, highlighted the cultural links and shared history between Turkey and Pakistan and particularly the support extended by the forefathers of the people of Pakistan during the Turkish War of Independence. He called for further strengthening cultural ties between the two countries. Burhan Kayatürk also appreciated the quality of education at Pakistan Embassy School Ankara and termed it as one of the best educational institutions.

Later, students from Pakistan Embassy School, and Pakistani students at various Turkish Universities, presented a vibrant cultural show. The performances portrayed multiple dimensions of the rich and diverse culture of Pakistan. A particular attraction at Pakistan Pavilion was the Beetle car, with unique truck art of Pakistan, with which visitors of all ages enthusiastically took photographs. Female visitors also availed themselves of the free henna (mehandi) offered at Pakistan Pavilion.
