Turkish companies delegation calls on the Prime Minister of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, 1 April 2014: Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Muhammad Nawaz Sharif met delegations of Turkish companies STFA and TAV who called on him at Prime Minister’s House today.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Mehmet Ali Neyzi, CEO STFA, Mr. Riza Arsan Vice Chairman Pakistan Turkey Business Council, Mr. Bulent Ozuturk Investment Coordinator TAV, Khawaja Muhammad Asif Minister for Defence, Mr. Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Chief Minister Punjab, Mr. Tarq Fatimi, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, and Captain (Retd.) Shujaat Azim, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Aviation.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif while talking to the delegation said that Pakistan’s economic policies have begun to show positive results and as a result the foreign investors are keen to harvest benefits of progressing economy. Many foreign investors have shown interest in investment in different sectors of economy, he added.
Prime Minister said that the keen interest and desire for investment in Pakistan is a strong manifestation of Pakistan-Turkish friendship.
The CEOs of Turkish companies told that their companies have expertise in management and expansion of airports and expressed their interest in investment in this sector in Pakistan.
Prime Minister said that a transparent process is being initiated for the management of the Airports and all the international companies would be invited to compete. He told that keeping in view the demands of the customers, we want to develop our airports on international standards.
Prime Minister told that Pakistan has provided friendly environment for the foreign investors and the Pakistan’s economy is full of opportunities in energy and infrastructure sectors. He recalled his meeting with the CEOs of the companies in Istanbul and said that we had very fruitful discussions in Istanbul in February.
