Large-scale Pakistani participation in Texworld exhibition, Efforts on to boost export of high quality Pakistani textile products – Pakistan Envoy

ISTANBUL, 7 November 2014: Ambassador of Pakistan to Turkey Mr. Muhammad Haroon Shaukat while visiting Pakistani stalls at three days Texworld exhibition at Istanbul said Pakistani textile products are of highest quality y and by showcasing state of the art textile products, Pakistani exports could be further boosted. He said Textile industry is considered as the backbone of Pakistan's economy and assured that the Embassy of Pakistan will provide every possible help to Pakistani textile exporters to market their products in Turkey and the region.

About 14 leading Pakistani textile manufacturers and exporters participated in the premiere of Texworld Istanbul, an apparel fabrics and accessories fair held at Istanbul Lütfi Kırdar International Convention and Exhibition Center from 4-6 November 2014.

Consul General Istanbul Dr. Yousaf Junaid, who made arrangements for the exhibition, said Pakistani textile products are having an edge over its competitors. He said Pakistani products are produced with state-of-the-art technology and Pakistan is an important regional textile hub for quality textile products. All world renowned brands of textile are manufactured in Pakistan, he added.

The Pakistan participating companies presented cotton and functional fabrics, fibers and yarns. About 10 countries were represented by 115 exhibitors from China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Pakistan, South Korea, Taiwan and Turkey. The exhibition offered an excellent opportunity where Pakistani products were showcased to buyers and professional visitors from Turkey and from the surrounding regions, including the Middle East and the Gulf States, Central Asia, Russia, Eastern Europe and North Africa. Trade Development Authority of Pakistan facilitated the participation of some companies while few more Pakistani companies participated under their own arrangements.
