President of Turkey stopover at Islamabad, meets Prime Minister of Pakistan

Later the two leaders went for a bilateral meeting at the Nur Khan Air Base lounge. 

The Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Muhammad Nawaz Sharif held a meeting with President of the Republic of Turkey Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, during his stop-over at Nur Khan Airbase at Islamabad on way back from Indonesia on 1 August.

The Turkish President was received by the Prime Minister and was presented Guard of Honour by the smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Air Force. The Chief Minister Punjab Mr. Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif was also present on the occasion.

The Prime Minister appreciated the personal contribution of the Turkish President to the growth and expansion of Pakistan-Turkey relations.

The Prime Minister expressed his desire for both the brotherly countries to work together in increasing the volume of bilateral trade and investment through trade agreements and other measures. The Prime Minister appreciated Turkish participation in various development projects in the last few years.

The Turkish President expressed his hope that mutual cooperation between the two countries shall increase in the future. The Prime Minister hosted a banquet in honour of the Turkish President before his departure
